Description

There is a tremendous cognitive bias surrounding muscle and strength training, often resulting in misconceptions about its role in health and wellness. Many believe that strength training is only for men, bodybuilders, or athletes, when in fact it is essential for everyone—from promoting longevity to supporting metabolic health. Even within some Yogic communities, strength training is mistakenly viewed as a ‘Western’ concept, which is far from the truth, when, actually both Yogic and Ayurvedic traditions view muscles not only as instruments of physical power but as vital components of energy flow, vitality, & overall well-being.  Let’s not forget the patriarchal notions around muscles and strength training, particularly in relation to women’s bodies & wellbeing.
